NSF has been updating guidance on requirements for Data Management Plans (DMP) by directorate. These updates can be found on the NSF website at:
http://www.nsf.gov/bfa/dias/policy/dmp.jsp
Notable highlights include that guidance is now available for the Education & Human Resource Directorate (EHR) and there have been changes in the Biological Sciences Directorate (BIO) and Geosciences Directorate (GEO) that add more specific reporting requirements. BIO now explicitly states that DMP will be monitored through annual and final reports.
In other news the National Endowment for the Humanities announced that one of their new grant program, Digital Humanities Implementation Grants (DHIG), will be following NSF’s lead and requiring a DMP.
