The National Institutes of Health (NIH) now requires a Data Management Sharing Plan be submitted in the updated format for all active awards.
- Proposals submitted prior to May 25, 2026 that have been awarded*: a DSMP in the updated format will be required at the next Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR).
- Proposals submitted prior to May 25, 2026, and not yet awarded: a DSMP in the updated format will be required during the Just in Time (JIT) process.
- Applicants who submitted proposals on or after May 25, 2026, were required to use the updated format with their application.
